Burson-Marsteller Wins European Account for Swiss International Air Lines

Frankfurt am Main, July 26, 2010 – Burson-Marsteller will in future support the airline company Swiss International Air Lines (SWISS) in its media and public relations efforts in numerous European markets, among them France, Great Britain, Italy and Spain.

After Burson-Marsteller was confirmed as the account holder for Lufthansa, the proposed communications concept also convinced the affiliate SWISS. For the first time, SWISS will have its media work for Europe conducted by a single lead agency. Starting immediately, Burson-Marsteller will manage and coordinate the account from Frankfurt, Germany.

“Burson-Marsteller understood our communications challenges and will be able to further develop our media work in Europe, particularly in the area of product communications,” says Jürg Dinner, Head of Corporate Communications at SWISS. “SWISS is a strong, independent brand within the Lufthansa Group and, as a national airline company, represents the values typical of the Swiss such as hospitality, quality and attention to the finest detail. Burson-Marsteller stands just as much for high quality standards and is therefore a suitable partner for expanding our international media efforts.”

“We are very pleased that after the renewed confirmation of our collaboration with Lufthansa we were also able to convince SWISS of our concept,” says Karl-Heinz Heuser, CEO Burson-Marsteller Germany. “We were able to put together a strong but reasonably priced package. Through the common support of both Lufthansa and SWISS in the future, we will be able to leverage considerable synergy potential for the Lufthansa Group.
